Who We Are:Trial-a Bite is a family owned and family oriented company. Established in 2008, we offer guided geological tours and fossil hunting expeditions in Britain. We welcome all on our tours - individuals, groups and families, and all abilities whether experienced or novice.
 Fossilised ripple marks in a block of Wadhurst Clay People of all ages (6 and above) and experience catered for; expert, amateur or beginner.
Folded beds of Rag & Hassock  We also wlcome enquiries from schools, colleges, families, parties, clubs, societies and individuals - or anyone who is 'just interested'.
 Sphalerite nodule We run rock and fossil hunting trips all year round - we do not stop just because the summer is over! The 'off season' trip often is rewarded by the best fossils!  Hastings beach

We are asked this question frequently, we believe that the advantages of having us guide your tour for you, truly is 'value for money'. Read what our customers have said about us, further down this page.
We have a knowledge and enthusiasm of geology and palaeontology which we like to share.We have assessed each location for safety and amenity.All our guides are H & S first aid trained.All our guides are police/CRB checked.We are insured to local government/education authority requirementsWe can provide all risk assessments and policies that local government/education authorities require.We can hire, to you, the geological equipment that you require for the tour you have chosen, without having the expense of buying your own (if you wish to buy your own equipment we are happy to offer free advice - and supply your equipment at very reasonable rates).For schools and colleges, we we can provide risk assessments for every site, 'pro forma' customisable permission and information letters, support and advice during the planning stage and post-trip advice on specimen identification, conservation and display. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Before You Book A Trip Please Consider These Inportant Points : Unfortunately, we do not run tours on a 'turn up and go' basis. Fossil hunting trips are very dependant on the state of the tide, as it is not safe to access the beaches where fossils are found at the wrong state of the tide.Therefore tours are run on a pre booked basis only.Please do call us as we may have a tour booked, that you may join in with (for these dates see further down this page, however do still call - as we may not have added new dates to the website yet). We can only offer tours at weekends only during school term time (as we work in schools) and trips are 'weather permitting' (as I am sure you are aware - nasty weather does not allow safe fossil hunting, so if there is a severe weather warning the trip will definately NOT go ahead) please consult us regarding weather concerns).

Many people are happy to join in with another party for a tour. It is a good way of meeting new people and finding others with an interest in rocks and fossils.
We offer this free service where we advertise a booked tour that has spaces available, or we advertise 'people seeking groups' for specific locations. PLEASE NOTE: Please contact us and book your places for any of the tours listed below, rather than just turn up on the day - this is so we can ensure that we have enough field kits with us.
